I just recently started playing Battlefield 2, it's AWESOME. There's not as much of a variety of levels to choose from as the original Battlefield 1942, but it's all right. Weird Al, don’t use the play now. Choose multi player then select a server to play on that has a good (low) ping time. Play now does not work for me.. you may also need to update the patch on your install. Download the latest patch from EA and get out there. How do you find servers? I connected to my account, went to multiplayer, and there were no servers. Are you suposed to search for them like type in their names, or would it show up automatically on the server screen?

You should probably make sure your game is updated I still play Battlefield 2 and am a great fan of the new battlefield called Battlefield 2142. And there are people on. tons. Always. Just make sure that your serch options are general enough. And by the way, has anyone tried the expansion packs Special forces, Euro force and armoured fury? They're sweet! You can even drive a SEMI!!! Without the tailer of course.

You guys should also try Battlefield 2142. That's really fun. It's futeristic combat and there's a new mode. Titan mode. There is this gigantic airborn ship that you have to destroy. First, you have to capture missle silos that launch anti-titan missiles at the enemy titan to destroy its shields. Then after they are down, you can either go inside, destroy the 4 consuls, and destroy the reactor, and without the RDX explosives (Future C4) it can take forever. OR you can just keep the 5 silos captured and then the missles can destroy the hull after a while. It is really fun online.

Not sure if location has something to do with the server availability. I still play every now and then and usually have a about 100 or so servers to choose from.. Make sure you download and install the BF2 Patch 1.41 Full Patch from EA. Then like cappachino said check your filters and see if that helps.
About finding a server. I really have not figured out the search tool so I just sort the servers by name and scroll down the list. Back in the day there were over 7000 servers and this was a pain but it’s not so bad now. When you find one you like you can save it to your favorites list and just use that the next time.
I also played 2142 but stopped playing when is started playing Ogame.

Ok here's what I did. I downloaded and installed the 1.41 full patch, created an account on gamespy, and now I can see all the servers on the multiplayer list.... BUT whenever I try to connect to a server, it says that I have an older version than the server, and won't let me connect. Does anyone know why it says that?
