Why, so you can have your ships built faster. Why would you buy one, when it's just as easy to wait for the build time? Sorry if I sound cheap, but it just seems like a waste of resources.

hmmm.... <waffle>investing in any building can be useful as they give you "permenant points" that cannot be taken away from you. Incidentally, I believe that nanite factories speed up building construction time as well. While you can just wait for the build time of whatever you are constructing, when your buildings are sufficiently developed, you will no doubt find that new developments take so long that you stockpile res in the meantime. This is obviously dangerous as it can make you a target. Nanite factories can also be very helpfull if you are going for Graviton Tech. I think I worked out that I would need at least lvl 3 nanite before attempting to build that many satellites. Another example of where nanite factories are usefull is when exchanging moonshots with someone. The faster you can build them, the faster you will get your moon </waffle>Important bitGenerally you need nanite only if you are comming up with more res than you can easily use up. e.g. If you often find that when you go to build another building/some more ships that they can be started immediately, then you probably dont need nanite. If on the other hand you find you have to wait to construct that next building, or you always have ships/defenses in the production queue, then it is a good investement

lol. the sky is the limit I personally have been aiming for Metal - 27 Crystal - 25 Deut - 22 Solar Plant - 26 (This doesnt cover the energy requirements from the mines, but I dont think its worth going higher.... a lot of people wouldnt even bother going that high ) across all of my planets for quite a while.... Im finally getting close as well (Am happy with that) When I get to those goals though... will no doubt decide to go higher
